Samey Minkara's journey, alongside a dedicated team, forms the heart and soul of Street Industries. Growing up in the Riverwood Social Housing Estate, one of the most disadvantaged areas in NSW, Samey faced a reality shaped by poverty, crime, and limited opportunities. From a young age, he observed how these challenging circumstances could diminish hope and restrict the potential of many young people.

As Samey navigated these challenges, he became deeply aware of the lack of support for young people in similar communities. It wasn’t just about the lack of resources; it was about the absence of genuine, caring relationships and the failure of existing systems to meet the real needs of youth. He saw talented, hopeful young people slipping through the cracks, their potential overlooked because they lacked the right support and guidance.

Determined to make a difference, Samey founded Street Industries. His vision was to create a real community where young people could find the support they needed to rise above their circumstances. Street Industries isn't just an organisation; it's a movement that challenges the status quo. Samey set out to build a network that not only provides immediate support but also nurtures long-term growth and resilience. He wanted to offer more than just programs; he aimed to create a community that fosters belonging, inspires hope, and empowers young people to strive for their dreams and positively impact society.
